THANK-YOU CARDS

Creatively Crafted

With each project I’m involved in, I see to it that it’s undertaken efficiently — from the initial brainstorming session and first rounds of sketches all the way to the final illustration.

For this project, I wanted to say thank you in a way that would leave a lasting impression on my wedding guests. All 175 cards were hand-painted with a personalised message inside. It took a considerable amount of time, but with the vision, the tenacity and finding ways to streamline my processes, I was able to thank every one in a timely manner in a unique way.

I believe the lasting result was memorable. I still walk into people's houses and see my art work displayed, so I know it had the intended effect - to be beautiful, meaningful and to leave a lasting impression.

'NEVER ALONE' CHILDREN'S PICTURE BOOK

Thoughtfully Designed

This project was one that was very personal to me. Having always dreamed of becoming an illustrator of a published children's book, I had extremely high standards and expectations for the images.

The images needed to enhance and explain the story, but also the special hidden meanings behind why the story was created.

I think the pictures were in harmony with the author's beautiful words and had a dreamy, tender quality, being sensitive to the subject matter. This is quite a challenge when the requirement was to draw quite technically accurate drawings of fighter-jets!

I’m so happy with the final outcome and am pleased with the way it managed to reflect exactly what I had envisioned.

This book has to date raised over £17,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital, a galvanising force behind Giraffes On Tour winning the London Region Pride of Britain Award.

UPDATE: We have now topped over £40,000 raised for GOSH!

The Stowaway Children's book

The second Giraffes on Tour adventure picture book supports GOSH and Starlight Charities. Available at: https://www.giraffesontour.co.uk/got-v2/shop/geoffreys-shop, on Amazon, or at an airshow near you!

3000 miles, four intrepid adventurers…and one unlikely Stowaway!

Adventure calls, leaving loved ones behind, bringing waves of loneliness in their wake, Geoffrey knows that his companionship is just what they need to see them through the long nights and rough seas.

Geoffrey Giraffe is back, in the sequel to his incredible and successful debut storybook, ‘Never Alone’.

Four fearless pilots set out on a journey of a lifetime. Without a single aircraft in sight, they begin a mission to cross the Atlantic Ocean…in a rowing boat! Once again, based on real life adventures, The Stowaway is a storybook which shares Geoffrey’s tales of friendship and fun. Exhausting rowing-relays, the lack of home comforts and fear-inducing food-rationing take their toll, but through determination and camaraderie, the Fearless Five finally make it to dry land.

As their wobbly sea-legs step onto the beautiful beaches of their destination, a new, very special partnership is borne.

Again, Lily Steel’s incredible paintings help to bring the storybook to life. Images of glorious sunsets, miles of beckoning oceans and wildlife in all shapes and sizes, take you along the journey with the beautiful rhyme. However, be warned; this tale is not for the faint hearted; hungry rowers with limited food and the lack of a bathroom - make for a challenging trip

This book is in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital and Children's Charity and Starlight.

Every book-purchase will help both of these children's charities to continue making life-changing differences to seriously ill boys and girls.

The Stowaway – Why?
In 2014, Isla Holdcroft, was diagnosed with Leukaemia. She was just 22 months old.
Through the support of miracle NHS workers, amazing friends, and wonderful charities like Starlight, Isla is now a healthy, happy and thriving ten year old. After 5 years in remission, in October 2021, Isla was officially ‘cured’ of cancer. This inspired her father 'Phil' and 3 fellow RAF pilots to set out on an epic rowing adventure, raising money for an incredible charity, 'Starlight'.'Starlight' grants wishes for little heroes like Isla and with charitable donations such as yours, they can continue to make dreams come true for brave boys and girls.

After hearing about the adventure-loving giraffe 'Geoffrey', the four pilots 'The Atlantic Flyers' saw fit to make room for one more team member on their 3000 mile row. The Stowaway' takes you through the highs and lows of 'The World's Toughest Row'.
